Choosing Printing Paper

Office and copy paper

Start with sheet format and printer media limits. For duplex documents, consider opacity and feeding behaviour as well as grammage. Confirm the actual grade and ream quantity before ordering.

Large sheets and white kraft

Large-format sheets need dimensions and grain direction matched to the printing and finishing process. White kraft sheets are a separate material enquiry; confirm finish and the intended converting operation.

Coated sheets

A PE coating changes the sheet surface. Specify the base sheet and coating separately, including the side to be printed or sealed. Food-contact suitability needs documentation for the exact application.

Coloured paper and board

Use a physical colour reference where appearance matters. For board, compare stiffness and caliper rather than treating grammage as a complete measure of thickness.

Before requesting a quote

What should I send for a quote?

Include sheet dimensions, grammage, quantity, printing process and packing requirements. Add grain direction or caliper where your equipment requires them.

Can I choose by the product photograph?

Use photographs to identify the listing, then confirm the grade and specifications. Pack artwork is not a guarantee of the exact stock or pack quantity.

Are all papers suitable for every printer?

No. Check the printer or press media specification, including supported weight and coating. Ask to review the intended grade before a production order.

Sizes, packing, minimum quantities and lead times are confirmed for the specific quotation.
